My wife is the knitter in the family and I made this for her. It stops wool from rolling round the floor,or tangling in a bag. It is tall so she can move it around without bending, and has a free running collar around the spindle to keep wool nice and free. For all the benefits of this unusual tool you need to ask a knitter. I just made what I was asked for. It gained me loads of brownie points.
