These pens are quite unusual. The are dyed wood, but dyed all the way through, like a stick of rock. This is achieved by splitting the wood blanks into very thin veneers, dying each individually, then reassembling them. In this way the grain is also maintained.
I was asked by a customer to make a number of these, to match the dominant colour in their company logo.
When finished they have iridescence about them and a high gloss, durable surface.
